The main aim of the Biocrystal Facility is to support selected applicants throughout all the steps required to determine three-dimensional (3D) macromolecular structures by X-ray crystallography. These steps comprise: choice of the construct; macromolecule production; crystallization; data collection and analysis. Members of the Biocrystal Facility will grant selected applicants access to large international facilities, which are currently not fully exploited by the Italian scientific community, in contrast with the emphasis on large European facilities given by strategic European programs such as Horizon 2020.
