A new key gene for heart health discovered

A study conducted by Sapienza University of Rome, in collaboration with the Institute of Molecular Biology and Pathology of the CNR, has identified a previously unknown human gene that plays a crucial role in the development of heart cells. The discovery, published in Nature Communications, opens new perspectives for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiomyopathies.

From Pantelleria to Mars. In a Sicilian lake, the origin of life is being explored

On the Sicilian island, a team of Italian researchers has identified a natural environment with geological analogies to Mars, which could also simulate the conditions of the primordial Earth. The study, published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, is the result of a collaboration between the CNR, INAF, the University of Tuscia in Viterbo, and Sapienza University of Rome, funded by the Italian Space Agency.
