The IBPM was founded to pioneer new types of cross-disciplinary biological research by bringing different basic sciences, such as the biology, the biochemistry and the immunology.

This is achieved by the collaborations between basic scientists and clinicians from a broad range of disciplines.

One important aim of the institute research mission is translating fundamental discoveries into applied science.

The major research focuses of the Institute are: Study of the protein structure, Study of the cell cycle phases control, Study of the biological role of the non coding RNAs, Plant Cell Biology, Genetics, Oncology, Immunology and Neurodegenerative diseases.
